The story of our founding is more interesting than all the novels written by Leo Tolstoy.

Dewoh was founded in the spring of 2007 after Brilliant Studios was restructured. What is Brilliant Studios you ask? Well, it's a legend that only exists as a memory now, but it used to be the home of four podcasts (lead by the mighty ship known as The Seth and Brian Show) and a marketing agency. Websites, logos, video, posters, and podcasts – Brilliant did it all; until one day when The Seth and Brian Show ended. Brian left the company and Seth had to decide what to do next. He decided to split up the empire into two separate companies: Dewoh and Nieman Creative. For the next few months Seth and a close group of friends started brainstorming what the new podcast network could be. Lukas kicked it off first with a short, sketch comedy show called "Where It's At!" that was later joined by the flagship "The Show!" in July 2007. When "The Show!" launched so did the website, and quickly Dewoh's popularity far surpassed Brilliant Studios, and more shows were created. "What to Read" covered the latest books, "The Colby and Colton Show" replaced the hole that Seth and Brian left, "Music Spotlight" helped people discover new music, and "Beautiful Monsters" became, at one time, the world's most popular Twilight podcast. The surge in popularity of "Beautiful Monsters" caused a refocusing of the company. Colton moved on to other things, and "The Seth and Colby Show" began its run of hilarity. Seth and Colby had a glowing business partnership and in 2008, the peak of Dewoh's popularity, 1 in every 15 podcast listeners had listened to or watched a Dewoh podcast. Colby formed an experimental network for Colton and his friends called "Blank Studios" and Seth launched some experimental "Pilot" shows on the Dewoh website. Then, on one fateful day in July 2008, almost a year to the day from the official Dewoh launch, Seth and Colby faced immediate problems. Two video cameras stopped functioning, and 3 hard drives containing Dewoh shows and files failed to work. On top of that, Sarah and Kathleen, the hosts of "Beautiful Monsters," decided that they didn't like the just-launched (and series finale) Twilight book and no longer wanted to continue with the show. Sadly, the white flag was raised and Dewoh went into an infinite hiatus.

It was indeed a dark time.

Seth and Colby continued to work together at Nieman Creative until mid-2010 when they parted as friends to explore other ventures. Colby focused on his schoolwork and made many new friends, and Seth moved to Manhattan, Kansas.

Shortly after, Seth decided the time was right to revive Dewoh and bring it back to its former glory. Starting in November 2010, Seth began to inventory every show Dewoh or Brilliant Studios ever recorded. After pouring through months of audio and video and terabytes of content, Seth began work on a website to showcase it all.

On July 30th, 2011, 4 years to the day of its original launch, Dewoh.com re-launched with hours of previously-unreleased content and a new show hosted by Dewoh's founder, Seth Nieman.

Dewoh is currently seeking new shows to launch and produce, and developing some of our own. The road ahead is bright.
